Heres whats next for our GTI 337, we had
been on the lookout for a CLEAN set of low mileage R32 seats and found these rare, heated R32 Konigs with the fabric
centers. We will be using the seat fabric from our stock seats for the center sections and reupholstering the R's in the red
pinstripped fabric with the GTI logo. This will be a killer mod. Also these seats are heated so we will install the heated
harness to make them work. At this same time it will be easy to do the lighted vent mod as the dash will be off for the
heated seat harness install. Heres some pics of
the seats.
11-29-2009 We recieved our
R32 seats and they are mint!!! We installed them and
the car looks great with them. We had planned on using the red pinstriped fabric from our original seats but after taking
measurements the fabric will not fit. The R32 seat requires a little more fabric than our originals can provide.
Also the seat area of the R32 front seats is wider than our originals and there is simply not enough fabric to recover the
R32's. We also need to swap out the rear center seat belt as our 337 GTI's seat belts are embroidered in red stiching. For
this we need to disassemble the rear seat. We also planned on taking all of the embroidered R's off the seat backrests but
the lack of fabric has sent us in a new direction. Now we need some additional R32 fabric and simply embroidering
the GTI logo and replacing all the R's with the GTI. This will be much easier and less intrusive to the R seats.

11-29-09 Here's the seats installed in our 337. Sitting
in these seats is a joyus pleasure they feel nice and tight. Our ultimately goal is to get to see our GTI in a Eurotuner
feature one day. We think we are almost there. The biggest obstacle for now is all of the next items are
BIG ticket items.
11-30-09 How about an R32 steering wheel or an R32
perforated dash? We like the 337 red stitched perforated leather wheel but it's not thick like the R32. The R32 wheel feels
stealthy in our hands. The perforated dash would also look great. These items may not be next but they are now
on the list.
12-01-09 Our very next modification to our GTI 337 is a set of billet aluminum Jcaps for our
new R32 seats. These caps will set these seats off and complete our R32 seats. We just ordered them they should be here by
the end of this week or early next week. These caps will complete the entire line of Jcaps for our GTI then it's off to the
next mod. Pics when
they arrive.
