Front Lwr Arm Rear Bushes

This is a 'triple bonded' bush to give a higher ratio of lateral to vertical stiffness. Allowing full suspension movement whilst giving very high fore aft and lateral stiffness to give good wheel control under high torque and cornering conditions.

RR Beam Pivot Bushes

The standard rear beam bushes are designed to give some rear compliance steering for safer car control by the 'general' driver. To eliminate this and give the car a much tighter and responsive feel Vibra-Technics have developed a solution using a stiffer rubber bush (making it group N acceptable). These bushes are a direct replacement for the original.

This LH rear mounting carries a proportion of the powertrain weight and reacts fore-aft and lateral forces. By combining a differential stiffness fore-aft to laterally and with some compliance vertically we are able to reduce the engine movement and still retain noise and vibration isolation.

The Golf front mount reacts a large proportion of the accelaration and overrun torque and has to carry a proportion of the powertrain weight. The original VW mount was always going to be a compromise! This Vibra-Technics design is a direct replacement for the original but allows only a fraction of the engine movement. Therefore there is none of the engine inertia forces throwing the engine back and forwards under throttle on and off conditions. The car has a much 'Tighter' feel and exhaust manifolds are not subject to high bending stress. In addition the level of noise and vibration transmitted to the cabin is not greatly increased.
