We did the Samco intake hose install without really documenting it as we went. We can tell you this, first off you need to have a
nice set of tools. If not leave it to the professional. Second you need to get a nice set of hose clamps like our line of
Stainless steel Gemi clamps. Third we used our lift which helped out alot and made our install go nice and smooth.
You can get by without having a lift but without the first two even we wouldn't attemp this install. There was a little problem
taking the factory bottom aluminum turbo inlet out. We used a big pry bar to pry on the coolant line running right next to
it. After we figured that out the rest went smoothly.
We got everything together and fired up the 1.8Turbo. What a difference you can actually hear
the turbo whistle and the diverter valve discharge excess boost by revving the engine while parked. Also keep in
mind this is a completely stock engine no chip, stock turbo, exhaust and even the diverter valve is the factory one. In
fact this is only the second engine mod the first one was a Neuspeed P-flow. We also ported the mass air flow sensor for max
air flow thru it which included removing the screens now you can see straight thru it with no restrictions and no engine codes
being thrown due to keeping the mid section the stock diameter. This mainly consisted of removing all restrictions
and not modifying or reshaping the actual sensor venturi.
We will have pics of the final install tomarrow.
Now we move on to the Neuspeed aluminum underdrive pulleys.
